Alone

She was there. She was there for anyone who needed her.
She held their hand when they were down
Helped them stand up again
She gave her shoulder for them to lean on
Comforted them, cheered them up
Put back that beautiful smile on their faces

But, when she needed someone to help her up
To have a shoulder to lean on
To understand her and only say ‘It’s okay, it’ll all be fine’
There was no one. She was by herself
Yet she stood up strong
Wore that beautiful flawless smile on her face
Like nothing ever happened
Like she was the happiest of them all.
